Welcome to my MIDI page, home to some of the best MIDI sequences you will hear on the web.

Music is an essential part of my life. I find MIDI sequencing very rewarding. More than just a creative hobby, sequencing has given me a taste of what it takes to play and record music for a living. I am not a professional musician by any means, but those who are have my respect.

My favorite genre of music is classic rock, and this is reflected in my sequencing. I am also a fan of 80s pop and new age music, and I listen to music from many other genres as well.

All compositions are copyrighted to their respective writers. It is not my intention to make any profit from these sequences. They are freely distributable, with the conditions that they are not to be altered without proper credit given, or sold for profit.

These MIDI files can be played by anything that follows the General MIDI standard, in other words, almost all modern computers and MIDI-capable keyboards and synthesizers.

Version 0.9 Sequences

These are my older sequences, some of whose first releases date back to 1999. They have been optimized to sound best on Yamaha's MIDPlug soft synthesizer for Macintosh. They should sound decent on any General MIDI system, however, because of the tricks I used to achieve certain sound effects, some of these sequences require a lot of MIDI horsepower to play! Special thanks go to CowYow for creating karaoke versions of these MIDIs, complete with lyrics.

Version 1.x Sequences

These are my newer sequences, so expect more to be added to this list over time. They have been optimized to sound best on Yamaha's PSR-550 keyboard, and several use features specific to Yamaha's XG MIDI standard. They are still playable on any General MIDI compatible system; in fact, some of these sequences may sound better than their 0.9 counterparts on certain General MIDI set-ups. However, an XG system may be needed to hear all the effects. Special thanks go to CowYow for creating karaoke versions of these MIDIs, complete with lyrics.

Collaborations

Here are some sequences that were created by group effort. The people I have worked with are excellent MIDI artists in their own right, and it is a privilege to have created these files with them. Plus, it's fun!

Allentown Billy Joel Version 1.0	Sequenced with Dale Aston, better known as OnNTwo in MIDI circles. Dale has done superb MIDI work on his own, so it was a pleasant surprise when he suggested we work on a sequence together. And this was only the first! Note, this sequence requires an XG-capable system, otherwise some parts will sound a little weird.
Don't Ask Me Why Billy Joel Version 1.0	Another collaboration with Dale "OnNTwo" Aston. I suggested we work on this one together after we finished "Allentown." He agreed, and I believe we produced another excellent sequence.
