Arcade Millipede Review

This game doesn't score a lot of points for originality, but then why mess too much with a good thing? Like Stargate and Asteroids Deluxe, Millipede largely preserves the framework of its predescesor, and then hangs a few extra features on that framework. The result is a game that is almost a carbon copy of the original, but with enough extra flourishes to bring even veteran Centipede players over for a look. In this case, those extra flourishes might even keep some of those players away from their beloved Centipede.

Centipede merits a higher grade if only because it is the more groundbreaking of the two. Even so, give Millipede a shot, and you might just find yourself liking it more. The odds are better than for Asteroids Deluxe, at least.

Grade: A-.
