After the first level, each level appears twice, once with a slow centipede, and once with a fast centipede. With each new level, the centipede is shorter in length, with more independent heads adding to the challenge, until finally every segment is fending for itself. Then the centipede regroups to start all over again.

Later on in the game, no more slow centipedes will appear, and every level is played only once.
