Parker Brothers ultimately succeeded in creating a game worthy of being called a Frogger sequel, but like most sequels, it is a little lacking compared to the original. Frogger II folows the typical sequel route with more everything: more screens, more enemies, and more ways for Frogger to find a place he can call home. What's missing is more fun. In fact, Frogger II can be downright frustrating, especially to first-time players who are trying to figure out how to control Frogger up in the clouds, where gravity has become a factor. Still, Frogger II does offer some fun to players who know their way around. 1997's 3-D Frogger is better as sequels go, but Frogger II: ThreeeDeep! isn't bad.
