Frogger is once again relying on you to help him get home. Only this time, home isn't just a lilypad at the edge of the river. Now, home might be a hollowed-out log, a passing tugboat's life preserver, or even a fluffy cloud high in the sky!
Wherever he goes, Frogger always begins his journey at the bottom of the sea. Lots of fish populate the sea, and not all of them are friendly (in the original Atari 2600 version, none of the fish are safe, but in other versions, smaller fish can be touched without fear). Floating above water are logs. If Frogger jumps into a hollow spot in a log, he is home, and the next Frogger's journey begins. If Frogger instead jumps onto the log itself, the perspective changes.
The sea is just as crowded at the surface as it is underwater, but here most of the critters are friendly. Frogger can jump across lilipads, baby ducks, turtles and whales to reach the tugboat and its life preservers. Be careful about those lilipads, because once Frogger jumps on one, he cannot jump on that one again. If Frogger misses a jump and lands in the water, back to the bottom of the sea he goes! Also make sure Frogger avoids the mouths of hungry sharks and angry mother ducks! The back of the mother duck is safe, however, and if Frogger lands there, it is off to the sky!
Up in the sky, birds and other flying things are Frogger's ticket to hopping into the clouds. Not every airborne animal thinks kindly of frogs, though. Clyde the dragon would love to dine on roasted frogs' legs, and Juanita the bat or Bertha the black butterfly will also make getting to the clouds much more of a chore. Butterflies can be snagged for extra points and nutrition, but every munched butterfly opens a hole in the clouds below, which can send Frogger back to the sea if he falls through.
If you succeed in guiding a Frogger to every home available above and below water, you will be whisked to the next level, where even more challenges await. Good luck!
