The Beginner's Race also introduces the Marble Munchers, slinking about in search of unsuspecting marbles to devour. Touching a Marble Muncher isn't fatal, but it will disorient your marble, making it difficult to control for a few seconds. That could be long enough for the Muncher to leap into the air and land on top of your marble. If it succeeds, the Muncher gets a treat and you lose valuable time!
